Gregory
Was not expecting a wonderful stay -- I usually don't opt for backpackers but the price was right and I was only there for one night. The room was large and the bed felt like a Mallowpuff. I was wondering if I was going to have a good sleep or not but happily I woke up the next morning feeling very refreshed. Had a shared bathroom which was a bit of a novelty, but it all worked out with my neighbour. Receptionists very friendly and five star hotel respectful of guests. It's near the Railway station. TV, shared hot shower, centralized heater. In-built cafe with delicious fish&chips.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

We have stayed at Downtown Backpackers several times now and find it clean and comfortable and in a very convenient position to all the sights in the city.

The location was perfect, just a short walk to the train station. The room was clean and cozy, with a comfortable bed. The free Wi-Fi was a nice touch. Despite some noise from the street, I slept soundly. I would recommend this affordable option for a short stay.

This hotel's location is unbeatable. It is conveniently situated just over the road from Wellington Railway station, making it a perfect choice for travelers who rely on public transportation. Additionally, it is right across the street from the main train terminal, making it extremely convenient for those arriving by train or taking the south island ferry.
This hotel provides a great value for money and offers a fantastic location, comfortable rooms, and essential facilities.

It was comfortable, clean, warm, quiet, and had everything I could need - cafeteria, bar, internet etc and I looked forward to getting back there after a long day.
The bunk bed I was staying in was extremely squeaky - whenever myself or my friend would move in the bed, it would squeak really loudly. I think it was the stairs to the bunk that were the problem, seems easily fixable.

service people were very nice. Glad room had a bathroom. Bed comfortable.
a couple of our room mates had no respect for others. Nothing you can do about that. we are staying with strangers that you don't know their habits or characteristics. Wish you could ask our ages as having an over 40 room would be nice. At least we would all be in the same mode in life.

I loved the hotel's old architecture and how comfy the beds were. The cleaning staff really took care of my room and provided fluffy towels. Additionally, the ability to prepare meals and make tea whenever I wanted to was perfect. The staff were helpful and provided excellent customer service. The hotel was accessible to public transport and offered a safe place to store my luggage.
Nothing for me.
